What is Window Perf?
Window perf is a sheet of thin vinyl that fits onto a window. It is transparent from the inside but opaque from the outside. The solid image is an illusion as it is printed on vinyl with tiny holes (see sample at left). From anywhere but very close, it appears to be a solid image.
Window perf can be commonly found on the back or side window of cars, vans or pickup trucks. As it doesn’t block light, it’s a super display banner. For many people vehicle magnets work well, but window perf can cover a larger area and, because it’s in a more prominent position, it has a bigger impact.
Printing Window Perf.
WG Design Group prints window perf on an adhesive-backed, perforated synthetic substrate. Full color printing on one side is standard. Window Perf comes in a range of sizes from 1′ x 1′ to 150′ by 53″ (inches) and can be laminated. For automobile use, we highly recommend lamination which helps keep dirt out of the holes.
Graphic Design – Window Perf
Window perf is a specialty material. It may expand or shrink from batch to batch. This is why we do not recommend borders. If you need borders, please make sure they are at least 2″ thick. We cannot guarantee even borders on all sides.
For vehicle window perf, please make sure you account for the curve – windows are rarely square. Also, if you are placing them on side windows, the design on the left and right will need to be set up differently.
It’s important to check with local zoning and vehicle codes. This is especially important if you are going to put your window perf on a store window.
