7 Introduction What is sustainability? How does it affect me, my com- munity, and the Earth? What can I do about it? Principles of Sustainability provides the tools you need to address and answer these questions and more, while supporting your sci- ence curriculum. Principles of Sustainability is a guide to connecting real-world circumstances with the broader concerns of environmental, eco- nomic, and social systems. It is designed to help you understand global sustainability issues so that you can become successful in the developing green economy.
