The triple bottom line of sustainability is a powerful tool because it forces us to consider multiple options andmake choices that depend largely on our own values and circumstances. 1. View the slide presentation below. Each slide will reveal a bit of new information. As you watch, ask yourself: Which hot chocolate shop is more sustainable? Which hot chocolate should I purchase, considering my own needs, as well as the wellbeing of the environment, economy, and society? 2. Consider how supporting sustainability is a work in progress. If you want to save money, the less expensive drink is immediately appealing. But what if you are also concerned with pollutants in the environment, a living wage for the cocoa bean harvesters, excess packaging, and the distance the beans travels that adds to carbon emissions. Then, there is the matter of personal taste. Do you prefer the shop that offers the most flavor options? 3.
