At the end of the talk, Jones emphasizes that we need to learn to hug both trees and people. What is he really saying about how our mindset needs to change? 4. What is the main mindset change Jones shares to ensure a more sustainable future? Essential Concept Important cultural and fundamental shifts must continue hap- pening in businesses, governments, media, and societies in order to fully promote and implement sustainability. 10.1 Sustainable Design and Sustainable Cities In their book , Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things , WilliamMcDonough and Michael Braungart challenge industrial design that damages people and the environment. Instead, they propose that industry should apply a circular economy approach to design that follows nature’s rules, where waste from one organism becomes a resource for another. CIRCULAR ECONOMY An approach to the produc- tion and use of products and services in which resources are used for as long as possible and then their components and materials are recovered and reused or recycled.
