For example, in the U.S., the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is responsible for problems in the workplace, such as the presence and handling of chemicals. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues permits for the use of desig- nated wetlands areas. Having many governmental agencies responsible for promoting sustainability can actually cre- ate challenges. There might be an overlapping of roles and responsibilities. One agency might assume another will take charge, so nothing happens. The agencies must figure out how to work together to solve problems.
