Children will learn to work alone and with others; share and take turns; explore and expand abilities and interests; express thoughts and feelings; and develop feelings of security and success. The daily schedule includes large and small group activities both indoors and outside on our private playground. The environment is set to encourage children to participate in art and music, dramatic play, block building, science, manipulatives, and story time. (Children should be working on potty training; however, if they aren’t quite there yet, a responsible adult must be available by phone to come and change them if need be.) Kindergarten Readiness Description: Our main objective is to provide a positive atmosphere which will promote individual growth and development. Children will be working to become more independent and build their selfidentity. Areas of development will include literacy skills, creative expression through art, music and writing, and both fine and gross motor activities. The daily schedule will include science, art, dramatic play, books, block building, manipulatives, math, and readiness activities. (Children must be potty trained.) They get a free after school snack, along with planned activities to keep your children entertained until 6pm every school day. This after school program is funded through the ASES Grant and is free to attend for 1st-5th graders at Suisun Elementary School. Once you register, you are set for the 22-23 school year, August 18th through June 9th. There are two requirements: 1. There is an attendance requirement of 90% attendance. 2. Soul Line Dancing This class is sponsored by Innovative Health Solutions and focuses on building physical activity and coordination. Participants are guided through different forms of music and dance between a regular and slowed down pace. This class offers time to exercise and socialize with peers. Our trained staff will introduce games and drills that will help your child have fun learning basketball, football, soccer & T-Ball. Some parent participation may be required. This is a monthly program, with sessions running every month from June to November. Ages: 2 – 4 years old Location: Nelson Community Center Day & Time: Thursdays, 10:00am – 10:45am Price: $80/child per month Fundamentals Basketball Classes by Air Blair Athletics Description: Learn to dribble, pass and shoot! The American Heart Association supports square dancing as a lifelong activity! Square dance attire is not required for classes. Class is hosted by the Twin City Steppers, who have been dancing since 1954. The class dances to all types of music for fun and fellowship.
